The Village of Barrington Hills would like you to be aware of a 5K & 10K race occurring tomorrow morning on Cuba, Merri Oaks, Buckley, and Oak Knoll Roads.

These roadways will be closed to through traffic between approximately 7:20 and 9:00 AM. Residents residing on the race routes will not be restricted from ingress or egress; however, it is advisable to avoid travel during the event, if possible. Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

The Barrington Hills Police Department would like you to be aware of a 5K run occurring tomorrow morning on Brinker Road between County Line and Otis and on Otis Road between Brinker and Old Sutton.

These roadway sections will be closed to through traffic between approximately 8:30 and 11:00 AM. Residents residing in these specific areas will not be restricted from ingress or egress; however, it is advisable to avoid travel during the event, if at all possible.

The Barrington Hills Police Department would like you to be aware that Braeburn Road will be temporarily closed between Spring Creek Road and Algonquin Road due to a structure fire near Cross Timber and Braeburn. Residents are advised to avoid this area for the next several hours, if possible. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

The Barrington Hills Police Department would like to inform you of a road closure on Helm Rd between Route 62 and Sioux Ave until approximately 4pm due to trees and power lines down. Please find an alternate route and use caution driving in the area.

The Barrington Hills Police Department would like you to be aware that the South Barrington Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred yesterday in a subdivision off of Barrington Road.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. last evening, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call from a homeowner about an unspecified emergency and upon their arrival, found that a rear window had been broken and a ground-level bedroom had been entered. When the suspect(s) heard that someone was home, they fled through the same window.

This incident highlights the need to always make use of alarm and video systems, if available.  Residents are also reminded to please utilize the Department’s vacation house watch program when traveling. Lastly, please always remember, if you see or hear something that just doesn’t seem right, call 9-1-1 right away.
