Drop-Off Permit Application

On January 3, 2024, the Village Board passed Ordinance 24-01 regarding the operation of commercial motor vehicles which involve the disembarking of three (3) or more passengers in the Village engaged in the transport of individuals seeking assistance.  This ordinance created a new chapter entitled Chartered Transportation Drop-Off License to Title 3 – Business Regulations of the Village Code.

This new Chapter requires the owner, operator, or driver of any Drop-Off Commercial Motor Vehicle to coordinate drop-offs with the Village and submit a drop-off permit application (see below) to the Police Department at least five (5) days before the proposed disembarking date.  Full details of the ordinance and application may be viewed at the above link.

Any drop-off commercial motor vehicle that is used in the Village in violation of section 3-8-2 of this chapter may be seized and impounded.  Any person, corporation, firm, or partnership as owner or operator of an unpermitted commercial motor vehicle found guilty of violating any provision of this chapter shall be jointly and severally liable for a fine in the amount of $10,000 plus $1,000 per passenger, excluding the driver.
